In the story “Old Milion” by Guy De Maupassant, Old Milion had many different traits. One of his major traits is insanity. He was a crazy, mental, lunatic of a person. You can tell he’s insane because during the trial he told everyone at the trial that he did kill all those soldiers and where he hid them. He gave every single detail of how he killed them too. Most people wouldn’t admit to committing several murders, but Old Milion did and it seemed like he wanted to die. Before his first murder, soldiers showed up and took 200 francs worth of property from him. That, of course, made him angry and made him want to kill all the soldiers. During his first murder, he was very quiet and cut of the soldier’s head “with one stroke” with a scythe, and took everything off the soldier. This shows that Old Milion will use the stuff that he took off the soldier, showing that he will commit more murders. And during his other murders he wore the dead soldier’s clothes to look like a Prussian solider, and would stab them and cut their throats till they were dead. This shows that he is getting smarter, more dangerous, and more insane. In all, Old Milion is an insane person who if he wasn’t killed, would probably have killed more soldiers.
